- 15th Session of Sino-Danish S&T Cooperation Committee Held in Beijing

The 15th Session of Sino-Danish Scientific & Technology Cooperation Committee was held in Beijing on November 11, 2006. Chairman of the Chinese side, Mr. Meng Shuguang Deputy Director General of International Cooperation Department of MOST co-presided over the meeting with Chairman of the Danish side, Managing Director Mr. Jorgen Kjems of Riso National Laboratory.
During the meeting, Danish side Chairman Mr. Jorgen Kjems made introduction to new measures of S&T system reform and future development in Denmark. Deputy Director General Meng Shuguang briefed the Danish side on China’s National Medium and Long-term S&T Development Plan and priorities of international science cooperation. Both sides exchanged views on the level and pattern to strengthen the cooperation as well as the understanding memorandum of cooperation to be signed between Ministry of Science and Technology of China and Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation of Denmark, and reached consensus on the future cooperation priority areas as energy and environment, public health and Biomedicine, then identified 28 new cooperative projects with detailed discussion and analysis on the new project proposals. Finally, Deputy Director General Meng Shuguang and Managing Director Mr. Jorgen Kjems signed the Agreement Minutes of the 15th Session of Sino-Danish S&T cooperation Committee after the meeting.
The Danish Delegation also visited Hangzhou in the period of this session. Division of American, Oceanian & European Affairs of China Science and Technology Exchange Center has been responsible for the the collection of new project proposals and logistics of the Danish Delegation.
